The photographic work examined the authenticity of Dutch forests. In the Netherlands, almost all nature is constructed and designed. The series consists of photographs presented as light boxes, revealing the extensive manipulation of Dutch forests. The photographs were taken at night using a large-format technical camera with 4 × 5-inch film. Gas-discharge lamps illuminated sections of the forest, producing a distinctive green glow. The artificial illumination made the landscape seem even more constructed. The time-consuming process of analogue photography required careful preparation and long exposures. The compositions created during the night shoots were left behind as temporary sculptural interventions in the forest.
