This site-specific installation focussed on a large-scale urban renewal project in The Hague. The outdoor installation was installed on the facade of a building destined to be demolished. It showed the contrast between the multicultural neighborhood and the traditional Dutch public housing, by combining traditional sayings, found as stone engravings within the old architecture, and the contemporary designs of advertisements in the nearby shopping street. We imagined this work as a temporary monument dedicated to the ideal of the multicultural society. We wanted to point out that the future urban renewal process should include all people.
