The project is a reference to the one-person protests of Helgi Hóseasson (1919 – 2009) , often credited as being the “first protestor in Iceland”. Helgi’s protests lasted from 1962 until his final years. The protests were initially directed against the alleged injustices that he felt had been inflicted on him by the Icelandic state since birth, but later also against the Icelandic state’s support for war and inequality.
